Mad Season fue un supergrupo de grunge creado en 1994 en Seattle por Mike McCready, por aquel entonces segundo guitarrista de Pearl Jam, Layne Staley, ex-vocalista de Alice In Chains, Barrett Martin, batería de los Screaming Trees y John Baker Saunders, bajista de The Walkabouts, editando simplemente un sólo álbum, titulado Above.

Peter Murphy (11 de Julio de 1957, cerca de northampton, inglaterra - ), sobre todo icono de los años 80, es el vocalista del grupo after-punk Bauhaus, además de poseer una amplia carrera en solitario, habiendo alcanzado su cenit comercial en 1990.

Delgado y elegante, con prominentes pómulos y aspecto vampiríco, con una voz rica y profunda y una inclinación por la poesía melancólica, Murphy ha sido considerado "el padrino de la música gótica". Algunos criticos han tachado sus letras de "pretenciosas" o "incomprensibles" debido a su excesivo regusto por la poesía y al tratamiento de temas metafísicos y religiosos. Su registro musical, sobre todo tras la disolución de Bauhaus, ha evolucionado por numerosos generos, desde el pop-rock hasta la electrónica, pasando por la musica oriental o los sonidos after-punk.
